Darcy Seepage Velocity
Darcy’s law governs slow water flow through soil, the basis of seepage, drainage and dewatering analysis.
The Darcy velocity is v = k·i. where k is the permeability and i the hydraulic gradient.
Multiply permeability by hydraulic gradient.
Results
This superficial velocity, multiplied by area, gives the seepage flow. The actual pore velocity is higher because flow only passes through the voids.
