User Guide
Calculeaf is an engineering calculation worksheet. You write formulas on a page, keep the units on the numbers, and see the answers next to the working — where anyone checking the sheet can follow them.
This guide starts with getting an answer on screen, then covers the rest of the app in the order you are likely to need it. Browse from the outline on the left. If you already know a button name, a function, or a job, search from the box at the top, or press /.
What you can do in the first ten minutes
- Read What is Calculeaf for a short picture of the tool, and where it runs.
- Sign in if you want the sheet to follow you. You can try as a guest, but that worksheet only lives in this browser.
- Click a page, type
w := 12 kN/m =, and get an answer — Your first worksheet. - Learn the names of the things on screen so the rest of the guide makes sense — Tour of the workspace.
- Open a finished example and take it apart.
Used Mathcad before?
Most of what you know carries over. := defines a name, an
= at the end of a line shows the answer, units travel with the
values, and the sheet calculates down the page.
Two differences are worth knowing. Calculeaf works out the order of your calculations from where they sit on the page, not from a numbered list. And you cannot write your own functions, so see Functions and solving for the built-in alternatives. Your old files will open — see Mathcad import.
