Region types
The Insert tab is the catalogue. Plots have their own tab. A slider is attached to a math assignment from the context menu, not placed as a blank block.
Insert tab
- Math — expressions, assignments, and results. The default if you click empty paper.
- Text — notes, headings, and lists. Double-click empty paper, or Insert → Text. Mark a text region as a section on the Text tab.
- List — a dropdown. Each entry can inject its own variables into scope.
- Sweep — a parametric table: vary an input and tabulate expressions.
- Summary — labels plus live-linked result cells.
- Line — a horizontal rule (a text region that is only a separator).
- Picture — an image from a file. You can also paste or drop an image on the canvas.
- 2D Frame — sketch members, supports, and loads, then solve.
Plots tab
- Line, area, scatter, bar — 2D charts (Chart.js).
- Polar line, area, and scatter.
- 3D — a surface
z = f(x, y).
Elsewhere
- Section table — Text tab, Sections group, Table. A clickable contents list.
- Slider — right-click a math assignment that uses
:=, then Add slider….
Later sections cover how to fill each type. Here you only need to recognise the button and know that every one of these is a region you can select, move, and copy.
