Find and replace text

On the Text tab, Find/Replace (Find & Replace group) searches text regions only. The tooltip: find and replace text everywhere it appears in text regions on this worksheet.

Replace words in notes

  1. Open the Text tab and choose Find/Replace.
  2. The dialog title is Find & Replace Text.
  3. Enter the current phrase in Find.
  4. Enter the new phrase in Replace with.
  5. Optionally tick Match case.
  6. The line under the fields shows how many matches. Choose Replace All.

Headings, body notes, quotes, captions, and section titles are all text regions. Header and footer bands are included. Math expressions, plot titles you typed in a plot config, and list labels are not — those are other region types.

Variable names are a different command

To rename V_1 to V_applied in every formula, use Find and replace variables on the Math Format tab. Running text find on V_1 will not change the math.
