Desktop vs Local
Download installers from /download/. Both apps look like the web editor and sign in with your Calculeaf account. A paid subscription is required — see Billing.
Calculeaf Desktop
Worksheets sync to your account by default. You can toggle local/cloud in settings. Use this when you want the same files on another machine, or to switch into local mode for a trip offline.
- Windows MSI/EXE and Mac DMG from the download page.
- Sign in with the same account as the browser.
- Switch storage mode anytime in settings.
Calculeaf Desktop (Local Only)
Signs in for licensing, but worksheets are stored only in a local file — never uploaded or synced. Works fully offline once installed. Best when files must stay on-premises.
- No switch to cloud storage.
- No access from another machine.
- Same editor, same math language.
Which to install
Most people want Calculeaf Desktop for the flexibility to sync or keep files local. Choose Local Only when a policy says the file must never leave the machine.
