Styles

On the Text tab, the Styles group has Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3, Normal (tooltip: Normal paragraph), Quote (Block quote), and Caption. Click a style to apply it to the selected text region (or the current paragraph).

Styles. The pencil is Edit text styles for this sheet.

Apply a style

  1. Select a text region, or click inside a paragraph.
  2. Open the Text tab.
  3. Click a style button. The active style is highlighted.

Heading styles are what you usually mark as sections. A style of Heading 1 is not automatically a section — you still press Section.

Edit styles for this sheet

The pencil button next to the grid is Edit text styles for this sheet. Changes apply to this worksheet only — other sheets keep their own style definitions. Close the dialog to keep the new sizes, fonts, and colours.
