Insert, move, and resize

Insert is two clicks: pick a type, then click where it should go. After that you drag the block and pull its handles.

A selected math region on the Calculeaf canvas showing resize handles around an assignment.
A selected region. Drag the body to move it; drag a handle to resize. Positions snap to the grid.

Insert

  1. Open the Insert tab (or Plots for a chart).
  2. Choose the type. The pointer is in insert mode — Esc cancels it.
  3. Click the page. The region appears at that point.

Clicking empty paper with no insert mode inserts Math. Double-clicking empty paper inserts a Text region (bottom-left at the click). Ctrl+Shift+T (Command-Shift-T on a Mac) also inserts text at the pointer.

Picture opens a file picker. You can also paste an image (Ctrl+V ) or drop an image file onto the canvas — see Pictures. New blocks snap to the grid. After you place one, copy and paste works like any other region.

Move

Click the region (not inside a text or math field if you only want to move it), then drag. The block snaps to the grid. Drag a group after you multi-select.

Resize

With the region selected, drag a corner or edge handle. Math and text wrap or clip according to the region’s wrap setting. Plots and tables grow with the frame.
