The web editor is one screen: a ribbon on top, a sheets sidebar on the left, and a page in the middle. Learn the names here; later sections refer to them without repeating this map.

Ribbon

The ribbon is the strip of tabs under the window title. Home is for new/save/import/export, clipboard, undo, and the unit system. Other tabs appear as you need them:

  • Math — operators, functions, units, Greek letters, constants, Given/solve.
  • Insert — Math, Text, List, Sweep, Summary, Separator, Picture, 2D Frame.
  • Text — fonts, paragraphs, styles, section headings, find and replace.
  • Math Format — result format, decimals, conditional formatting, calc numbers.
  • Plots — line, area, scatter, bar, polar, and 3D surface.
  • Document — paper theme, grid, zoom, print, headers and footers.
  • Review — assign a reviewer, drop comment pins, approve or request changes.

The compact buttons on the far left of the ribbon are Quick Access: New, Save As, Export .leaf, Import, Share, Undo, and Redo.

Canvas

The canvas is the page. Regions sit at a position and size you can drag. Positions snap to the grid. Scroll vertically to move through pages. Zoom (Document tab, 50%–200%) scales the view; it does not change the printed page.

Click a region to select it. Drag the body to move it, or drag a handle to resize. Click empty paper once to place a new math region (or to deselect if a region is already selected). Double-click empty paper to place a text region.

Sheets sidebar

The left sidebar lists your worksheets and folders. Signed-in users also see Templates and, if you are on a team, a Team tab. Create a sheet from the New control, or start from a template you saved earlier. A star marks your preferred template for the new-sheet dialog.

Other sidebars you will meet later: Snippets (reusable region groups), Sections (jump to numbered headings), and AI (create, edit, or review a sheet from a prompt).

Unit system and status

Each worksheet has a unit system: SI, USCS, or CGS. Change it on the Home ribbon. The setting changes how results are displayed, not the math you typed. A length entered as 4 m stays four metres; a USCS sheet may show the equivalent in feet.
