Paper themes

A paper theme sets the page colour, grid colour, and the ink used for text and units. It is stored on the worksheet, so a shared copy keeps the theme you chose.

The same User Guide Demo worksheet using a dark paper theme, with the Document tab Page theme menu visible.
The same sheet after choosing a dark Page theme on the Document tab. Grid, page, and unit colours change together.

Change the theme

  1. Open the Document tab.
  2. In the Canvas group, open Page theme.
  3. Pick a theme. The page updates immediately.

What ships with Calculeaf

The default is Blue grid — the engineering-pad look used in Getting Started. Green grid and Quadrille (ivory) stay in the same family: light paper, visible grid.

The rest follow common editor palettes, light and dark:

  • Dark: Dracula, Monokai, One Dark, Nord, Solarized Dark, Gruvbox Dark, Tokyo Night, GitHub Dark, Night Owl, Cobalt2, Material Palenight, Ayu Mirage, Synthwave '84, Zenburn.
  • Light: Solarized Light, GitHub Light, One Light, Ayu Light, Xcode Light, Tomorrow.

Dark themes invert the page and the grid. Math still evaluates the same way. Choose a theme you can read for a long session; print and PDF follow the current theme, including the grid if Grid is on.

To reuse a theme on every new sheet, save the worksheet as a template. Grid and zoom live on the same Document tab as canvas controls.
