Average speed is the most basic kinematic relation — distance covered per unit time — underpinning travel, flow and rate problems.
The average speed is v = d/t. where d is the distance travelled and t the time taken.
Inputs
d := 150 km=150000 m
t := 2 h=7200 s
Divide distance by time.
v := d/t=20.83 m/s
Results
The result is the constant speed that would cover the same distance in the same time. Instantaneous speed may vary above and below it.

- Total distance over total time.
- Straight-line or path distance.
- No direction information (speed, not velocity).
