Density — mass per unit volume — identifies materials and drives buoyancy, weight and packaging calculations.
The density is ρ = m/V. where m is the mass and V the volume.

Divide mass by volume.
rho := m/V=2700 kg/m^3
Results
Comparing this to known values identifies the material (here ≈ 2700 kg/m³, aluminium). Density also decides whether a body floats in a given fluid.
