Ideal Gas Amount (Moles)
The ideal gas law gives the amount of gas in a vessel from its pressure, volume and temperature — the starting point for process mass balances.
Solving pV = nRT for amount, n = pV/(RT). where p is pressure, V volume, R the gas constant and T temperature.
Apply the ideal gas law solved for amount.
Results
Multiplying the moles by the molar mass gives the gas mass. The result underpins cylinder contents and reactor charge calculations.
