Solution pH
pH measures acidity on a logarithmic scale, compressing a huge range of hydrogen-ion concentrations into 0–14.
The pH is pH = −log₁₀(c_H). where c_H is the hydrogen-ion concentration in mol/L.
Take the negative base-10 logarithm.
Results
Each pH unit is a tenfold change in acidity. A pH of 3 here is acidic; 7 is neutral and above 7 is alkaline.
