Site planners size parking lots from a simple area budget: the total paved area available, divided by the area each stall consumes once drive aisles, striping, and circulation space are accounted for. Dividing the total paved area by the per-stall allowance gives a first-pass estimate of how many cars the lot can hold.
Results
A result of 200 stalls for a 5000 m² lot is a reasonable planning-level yield; actual striping layouts typically come in a bit lower once irregular corners and required accessible stalls are subtracted. This figure is best used as an early feasibility check, with a detailed striping plan confirming the final count.
