Pythagorean Theorem (Ladder)
The Pythagorean theorem relates the sides of a right triangle — here a ladder, the wall height it reaches and its base distance.
The hypotenuse is c = √(a² + b²). where a and b are the two perpendicular sides.
Apply the Pythagorean theorem.
Results
The ladder length is the hypotenuse. The same relation gives diagonal bracing lengths, cable runs and any right-triangle geometry.
