Cone Volume
The volume of a cone is exactly a third of the cylinder that contains it — useful for hoppers, piles and funnels.
The volume is V = π·r²·h/3. where r is the base radius and h the height.
Apply the cone-volume formula.
Results
A conical stockpile or hopper holds a third of the equivalent cylinder. The same formula sizes funnels and the conical bottoms of tanks.
